Is Your Vacuum Making You Sick?

A couple of days ago, NBC'S the Today Show did a piece on how vacuum cleaners spread bacteria. While it has been well known that hepa filters help the spread of pathogens through the vac exhaust, this study looked at bacteria that get attached to the brushes and are then spread throughout the property.

When you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Most of what the brushes come in contact with are organic particles that provide a feast for bacteria.

In between uses, the bacteria on the brushes multiple. Upon the next use, bacteria is spread around on the carpet or floor and the cycle starts all over.

I don't know about you, but I am going to spray the underside of my vacuum with our natural mold and bacteria cleaner after each use.
